Conditioning / Feb. 1st
We will condition Monday, Feb. 1st, 5:30 to 8:30. We will hand out uniforms at 8:00 pm in the hitting center. All players (including basketball) are to be present, if basketball players are tied up, then a parent needs to be present to pick up uniforms. Pictures will be on the 3rd after school. Any questions feel free to call a coach. Thanks, Coach Floied
Team pictures / Feb. 3rd
Team pictures will be Feb. 3rd, directly after school. We will be handing out uniforms Friday night at 8 pm (the end of conditioning). Important for basketball parents to be there to pick these up, the rest of us will be there already. There is an issue with the hats not being in yet. This is early for pictures and we were not that rushed to get the hats. This date was sprung on us yesterday, not our fault. We will wear the red hats from last year and come up with enough for the new players to wear for pics. We also may not have our socks and belts, may be a last minute deal. Anyway, conditioning is going great, looking forward to getting the basketball players in and working them. Lets keep working hard and keep those grades up. Thanks, Coach Floied
Monday conditioning / 1/25/10
We will condition starting at 5:30 today. We need to get the players acclimated to the cold weather, as some of you know we will play in some pretty cold temps! So wear your winter gear. Conditioning is going great and the boys are doing awesome! Lets keep it up. Thanks, Coach Floied
Player Photos & Sponsor Money
Cheryl Johnson has volunteered to take action photos of all the players during the season. She will have a Shutterfly website that you can view all the photos on, and if you supply her with a flash/USB drive for your player, she will save all those photos for you and return the flash drive to you at the end of the season. This takes a lot of time and effort from Cheryl--we really appreciate this and everyone please let her know how much we appreciate her hard work. If you can, please get her the flash drive by Play Day weekend. If anyone still has sponsor money to turn in, please get to a coach or a board member by Friday, February 12. This will still allow us time to get the sponsor banner printed and thank you letters/season passes mailed out prior to Play Day weekend.
Thursday, Friday practice
No practice (conditioning) on Thursday. We will condition on Friday, starting at 5:30 if the weather allows, if it is inclement weather, we will be in hitting center at 6:30. Thanks, Coach Floied
Wednesday, 20th
Outdoor conditioning is cancelled today. We will be in the hitting center from 6:30 to 8:30. Coach Floied
Tuesday's practice
We will have practice on Tuesday, after school, we will be long-tossing on the football field. Since we have a booster/parent meeting, we will stay at school until the meeting (5:30). On a sad note, Daniel Gassman broke his wrist today while riding a skateboard. The last word was that it was a "swan" break, and the doctor was unable to set it. He will have surgery tomorrow afternoon. I will update when I hear further. Keep him and his family in your prayers. See you tomorrow, Coach Floied
Monday / Tuesday
We will practice Monday, at 4:30. Drop off at the parking lot by the baseball field. We will be done at 7:30. Please have your report card for Wednesday's practice. I realize you may have turned it in, try to get a copy of it from your teacher. The next report card make sure you bring it or a copy to myself. Remember, you guys are student/athletes, the student comes first! Most of you had great grades, some of you were pushing it way too close. If you had good grades, keep it up, if you were pushing it close, pick those grades up, that is priority! There is no compromise in a failing grade, F = suspension from the team, you can't return until you make it a passing grade. Lets show the teachers and fellow students at school that we are working as hard in the classroom as we are at practice. At Tuesday's meeting I will be handing out the gear to those who don't have it ( ie...basketball players). Be prepared to turn in the remainder of the sponsorship monies collected. Your hard work will pay dividends to the team. Thank you for your support and hard work. We will be talking about the playday tournament we will be hosting. It will be re-named the "Cody Holder Invitational". This will be the last fundraiser we will have if it, and the sponsorship drive are successful. For the tournament, your help in working is vital. We will also be hosting the varsity tournament at the end of the year, this also will require your help to be successful. Practices have went awesome thus far. The boys are working extremely hard and making great strides. I believe this will be a great year for varsity and junior varsity. Keep supporting these guys, they are working hard to be a great team! Coach Floied
Parent & Player Meeting
There will be a parent and player meeting next Tuesday, January 19 at 5:30pm in the CCMS cafeteria. If there are players still in basketball, they can come down after their practice. If possible, we need all sponsor money turned in at this meeting in order to get our sponsor banner made and season passes/thank-you letters mailed out before Play Day Weekend. We will also go over the Play Day work schedule and have sign ups for concessions at regular season home games.
Welcome!
I just want to welcome all of the returners and new players back. I really have high hopes for the Varsity and J.V. team this year. For the returners, lets be leaders lets pick up where we left off. Varsity this is your time you young men have been together for a long time now and its time to show Coffee County what you can do. But first we will have to work our tails off we need to take advantage of the hitting facility and the time we get to use it. J.V. I know we didn't get alot of games in last year like we wanted but this year is differant. Coach Floied has given me the J.V. Team and I am excited with the talent that we have. First I just want to let all of you know that every position is open, what ever position you played last may not be the same position that you play this year. So when we hit the practice field remember that and give me everything that you have. Show me what each of you can do and give me 110% and I will do the same. To all of the players, I would like for each of you to set a goal for yourself starting now and work hard to achive that goal. In closing I just want all of you to know that I am going to give you everything that I have, if any of you want to work on something after a practice just let me know and I will be there to help. Lets raise the bar high and most of all lets reach that bar. Coach Meeker
ok, we will make our mind up...promise!
We have permission to practice on Monday, even though school is out. From now on we will decide on cancelled days as they come if we will conduct practice. It's my fault, sorry. No more confusion. Coach Floied
snow days???
FYI....If the school is out for snow, sick or whatever reason, then we will not have practice that day. Since school is cancelled for Friday, we will not practice Friday, but will practice Saturday at 2 pm instead. (2 pm - 5 pm) (no school = no practice) That goes for sickness also, if a player misses school due to illness, then he is not allowed to participate in practice or game that same day. Sorry for any inconvenience, Thanks, Coach Floied
conditioning dates and times
As of now, due to the weather, we will not start conditioning outside until it gets warmer. Until then, we will condition Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 6:30 pm till 8:30 pm. When the weather breaks, we will start at 5 pm, till 8 - 8:30 pm. Please be to practice on time, and be there to pick your child up on time. I understand things happen, and we all get behind, but please try to be on time. Thanks for your help and its almost baseball time in Manchester! We had a good first practice and got alot of work to do in 2 months. Thanks, Coach Floied
