Saturday tourney

We will be leaving the middle school by 9:15 am. If you drive up by yourself then be at Blackman Middle School's field by 10 am. We play at 11, 1 and 5. Good luck and see you there. Wear black vest, belt and socks, bring your red vest, belt and socks in case we need to change during the day.

Friday practice

We will have a quick hitting practice in the hitting center on Friday, from 5 till 6:30. We will get in and out as quick as possible. Lets get a good nights rest for the tourney this weekend.

practice Wednesday (24th) and Thursday (25th), Tournament

The boys have been really working hard and practicing in some less-than desirable weather conditions, so the coaching staff has decided to give them a much deserved break and they will have Wednesday off. We need to rest their arms for the varsity tourney this weekend also.

Any JV player that wants to go to the tourney is welcome to go. We won't have a bus, and they probably won't get much, if any playing time in. So, they don't have to go, just wanted to let them know they are welcome to come.

We are scheduled for 3 games at 11 am, 1 pm, and 5 pm. We need to win 2 of 3 to advance to Sunday's bracket. There is a 2 hour time limit per game, or 7 innings. We will be playing on both the Blackman Middle School and Blackman High School fields.

We will resume practice Thursday afternoon, 5:30 till 8:30 or 9, on the HIGH SCHOOL field. No conditioning before practice, we will hit the field at 5:30 and get in a good practice to get ready for the tourney. So bring what gear you need for the weather and to be on the field.

practice Monday, 22nd

We gained alot of experience this weekend that will make us better. I think we have a great team and if the boys will work hard and push through some sore muscles, good things will happen!

Practice will be at 5:30 at the high school, if the weather is inclement, then we will practice at 6:30 in the hitting center.

scrimmage vs. Blackman

We will meet at the middle school at 10:00 am Saturday morning to leave for the scrimmage. If you know where your going and want to go ahead, make sure you are there by 11:00 am.

Players wear grey pants, red vests, black socks and belt with black winter long sleeve shirt under vest, red hats. Good luck and lets play hard.

We will practice immediately after school Thursday at the Babe Ruth field until between 6 to 6:30 pm.

Practice Wednesday, 17th

We will split practice between varsity and JV again on Wednesday. JV will practice at the hitting center from 5 till 6:30, and varsity will practice from 6:30 till 8:30.

By splitting up the squads, it will give each player more reps in each station in the hitting center, making more use of their time than if both squads were in it together. There is alot of "downtime" with all of the players present. Also, just because you may be practicing with varsity or JV now, that does not mean that it can't be changed as the season progresses.

Coach Meeker contacted the Blackman coach about the scrimmage this weekend. This is a varsity scrimmage, however; we may bring a few JV pitchers. We play the next weekend in a varsity tourney at Blackman, so we don't want them to see our varsity pitchers too early. Their field is covered and if it warms up and does not rain, or snow, any more this week, we should still be good to go Saturday. Sunday is still questionable for the scrimmage at home, if the field dries out from the snow melting then we may get it in. That may be a last minute call we will make Saturday.

Practice Tuesday - 2/16

We will practice Tuesday in the gym at the middle school. Varsity will practice from 4 - 5:30, JV will practice from 5:30 - 6. The weather is a killer, got to improvise, adapt and overcome! The scrimmages are still on schedule for this weekend, we will let you know the status of them as soon as we know.

Practice, Tuesday, 8th

We will practice after school on Tuesday until 5:30 pm. Due to the weather we will be in the gym. Players need to wear clean shoes, and hitting center shorts and t-shirt (& sweats). They will only need their gloves.

Team pictures / Feb. 3rd

We will wear grey uniforms, black accessories, black winter top with the "C" on the neck and red hats. I will have red hats for the new players, they can purchase them for $10 each if they want an extra one, our hats that have been ordered won't be in until Friday. They do not have to buy one, that's only if they want an extra. If not, I will return them to Cooper's.

Practice Tuesday (2nd)

We will practice at the middle school Tuesday from 4 pm till dark (5:30 or so). The Babe Ruth field will be too wet so we will be long tossing and conditioning at the school.
